After my post about Fountains of Wayne the other afternoon I was sent a text from my roomate asking if I ever had seen That Thing You Do, a film written and directed by Tom Hanks from 1996. He was curious because Adam Schlesinger, bassist and songwriter for Fountains of Wayne, wrote a good amount of the songs for the film, including the single "That Thing You Do." I soon after started to do some research of covers of this superduper pop song and I stumbled upon *NSYNC covering the song back in 1999. I thought it was going to suck, but it really wasn't that bad. I was very surprised to see that these factory-produced-pretty-faced-boy-banders had a decent amount of musical ability.
