With a title like "Fuck You," this is not at all what I expected, but I certainly really like it. "Fuck You" is one of my favorite songs of the past month and for sure my favorite song title in recent memory. The Ladykiller, the new Cee-Lo album will be out in October. Check it out!
Mike Posner = Disgusting
I don't think I even need to post a video or mp3 of "Cooler Than Me." If you haven't heard it, I dont' know what planet you live on. It's arguabally the best song on commercial radio right now. This video is also pretty ridiculous. Check it out!

Last night I had a very bizarre dream and I woke up thinking, "man... I could totally make a soundtrack to this." Yeah, I know, I am weird. Who thinks that? Anyway, the first song that came to mind was "I Can See Your Tracks" by Laura Veirs, a song I heard earlier in the year and always wanted to post. It truly is a stunning work of art. At a time where I really miss bands like Fleet Foxes, this is about as close as I can find to something like that. Enjoy!
The average day brings nothing really new to me in terms of music. However, every once in a while I find something that really catches my attention. I first read about Raleigh Moncrief in The 405 and I said to myself, "eh...why not give it a try." So, I painstakingly searched for the album Carpal Tunnels and finally came upon Bandcamp, where I could hear the album for free. I was absolutely blown away. I love this very different solo project by Raleigh Moncrief, a guy known for his "math/rock" guitar playing and engineering on Dirty Projector's classic Bitte Orca. This is a record that most people will not hear, but it certainly deserves a listen. Enjoy!Listen to it HERE
The Swell Season is a folk rock duo most notably known for staring in the film Once, which is one of my favorite musically inspired films of all time. Recently, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, both of The Swell Season, stopped in Chicago to work on a little covers project for the A.V. Club. The concept of A.V. Club's Undercover will be explained in the video along with a brilliant cover of an indie gem. Enjoy!
Besides being one of my most anticipated films of the upcoming future, Scott Pilgrims Vs. The World, is also one of my most highly anticipated records of the summer. This is most likely true (never mind, only true) because of BECK, who is the man. Earlier today, the first free mp3 was released from the soundtrack and it sounds fantastic. "Ramona" was everything I wanted to hear plus some. I apologize for not posting recently. I have been pretty sick. From stomach viruses to the flu, germs have not treated me kindly this week. So, in honor of my poor health, I will post a funny, but realistic, song by one of the most under appreciated bands of this generation: Fountains of Wayne.... and I don't care what you think of Fountains of Wayne. If you have ever listened to any of their records you would realize how talented they are.
